STOCKHOLM/COLOGNE, NOVEMBER 11, 2020 – ESL Gaming, the world’s largest esports company, today announced the return of DreamHack Showdown, the all-women Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament. DreamHack Showdown Winter, which will feature a European and a North American division, will start with qualifiers on December 4-6, with the main tournament running over six days from December 15-20, 2020. Featuring top talent from Europe and North America, DreamHack Showdown Winter will also feature a $50,000 prize pool. Monster Energy is a partner for this event.
Reigning champions from DreamHack Showdown Summer are Team Originem (Europe) and CLG Red (North America).

- The tournament will be played over the course of six days
- The tournament will feature a double elimination bracket with 4 teams being invited and two teams coming from open qualifiers
- The four direct invited teams will be seeded into the first round of the upper-bracket, while the two teams from open qualifiers will face each other in the first round of the lower-bracket
- The final will be played best-of-three with no upper-bracket advantage

- The tournament will be played over the course of six days
- The tournament will feature a double elimination bracket with 2 teams being invited and two teams coming from open qualifiers

Dreamhack Masters Winter
The DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe is about to get underway as part of the ESL Pro Tour and feature 16 teams vying for a total of $150,000, and 450 points for the first place. The event is sponsored by an array of companies, including CORSAIR, Monster Energy, Intel, AT&T and Betway. DreamHack Europe kicks off on November 30 and will continue through December 6.
More importantly, the Counter-Strike community will see a number of established squads have their shot at the grand prize. A total of 14 teams were invited while c0ntact Gaming and Gambit Esports managed to enter the event through Closed Qualifier.
The invited teams include squads such as Astralis, Team Liquid, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, Cloud9 and other Counter-Strike household names.

Dreamhack Masters Winter 2020
Event Format, Groups and Playoffs
All 16 teams will be split into double-elimination format (GSL) Groups, with 8 teams in each Group and all matches played in a Best of 3 (Bo3). This means that we will see 2 Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket rounds before 4 teams are qualified from each Group.
This puts the number of competing teams in the Playoffs to 8 total squads. The Playoffs kick off with the Quarterfinals round and then progress to the Semifinals, before finally meeting at the Grand Final.
The format will be a single elimination bracket, with all games played in a Bo3 and the Grand Final stretching up to Bo5.
